Netanya, Israel has one
hospital. This hospital serves a population of 300.000 and is not large enough
to meet the needs of the people in the area. To make the situation more
difficult Netanya alone has had 12 terrorist bombings in the last 19 months
and Sanz Medical Center/Laniado Hospital's dedicated staff was called upon to
save the lives and treat the hundreds of maimed and injured.
The Hazel M. Gulley
Foundation, located in Peru Indiana is working with the Board of Trustees of
the American Friends of the Sanz Medical Center/Laniado Hospital to raise $2
million dollars toward the $15 million needed to build a new children's
hospital on the Sanz Medical Center campus.
The Laniado Hospital,
which was established in 1975, operates a full-scale medical campus including
a Nursing School and two Geriatric Care Centers. The Hospital is a community
health care facility not funded by the Israeli government.
Laniado Hospital was
conceived by its founders as an ''Institution providing patient-centered high
quality health care for all persons in need and in accordance with halachic
principles''. No person would be turned away, regardless of religious or other
affiliation, or ability to pay. Concern for the sick would always take
precedence over other considerations.
Also established in
1975, The Hazel M. Gulley Foundation has quietly worked behind the scenes,
both in the United States and throughout the world, making life better for
many people.
The foundation has a
straight forward mission statement: ''To help other non-profit organizations
reach their goals in an effort to enhance the quality of life for those in
need around the world,'' and that's what the Hazel M. Gulley Foundation has
done and continues to do.
The Board of Trustees
of the Sanz Medical Center/Laniado Hospital has agreed to match all funds, up
to $1 million, that the Gulley Foundation raises for this cause and your
financial support is needed.
