Following
the death of his mother in 1975, Herschel W. Gulley, received the encouragement from
several friends including Norman Vincent Peale, W. Clement Stone, Og Mandino, Father Philip
Marquard and Orville Redenbacher. Through this experience Herschel founded
a charitable organization in memory of his late mother, Hazel M. Gulley, a
remarkable woman
involved in numerous charitable organizations throughout her life.
Herschel sought counsel and advice from leaders of several charitable organizations and gained a rich understanding of the charitable needs locally, regionally, and around the world.
Through his significant personal and professional contacts, Herschel realized he could raise funds substantial enough to achieve many charitable objectives.
He taught, inspired and mobilized numerous accomplished individuals. The result was a strong and solid financial base for wide reaching charitable projects around the world.
Herschel's desire to help others help themselves, his "pioneer spirit," and his obedience in service of the Lord, has allowed this organization to enhance the quality of life for those in need around the world for more than a quarter century.
